包华除了擅长于演奏半音阶口琴及十孔口琴，也精通各种类型的音乐，例如流行音乐、古典乐、摇滚乐和传统的爱尔兰音乐。1994年他录制的爱尔兰音乐专辑获得最佳专辑奖。包华不断努力地改进口琴的设计与结构，他擅长于调音，通过结合各种口琴的演奏特性, 设计出新款口琴以提升口琴的演奏质量与技巧。他所研发的簧片发音设计, 获得日本玲木公司采用在他们所制造的高级专业型口琴。

A master of the chromatic harmonica and blues harp, Brendan Power has proven equally adept at playing Pop, Classical, Rock and Traditional Irish music. His debut solo album, New Irish Harmonica, was chosen by Folk Roots as one of the top album of 1994. The Irish Times praised him for his “remarkable technical skill, deep knowledge of the instrument and a truly creative approach to the music”. Power has consistently sought improved ways of designing the harmonica. His power reed valve system was adopted by the Suzuki Musical Instrument Company of Japan for their highend Promaster Harmonicas.
